I'm Sara, a novice home cook and a food "hobbyist" who wanted a way to record the recipes and wisdom my amazing mother, Carolyn, shares with me. Mom can cook anything, and can tweak any recipe to fit just about any dietary restriction. Pretty much no meal goes by without a panicked phone call to Mom, who always talks me off the ledge and helps me fix and/or improve whatever recipe I'm teaspoons away from converting into a literal hot mess. She impresses me on a daily basis.
A former take-out junkie, I am learning to cook - in part to be healthier, in part to save money, in part because I think it's fun. For my entire life, Mom has expressed her love through her cooking and baking, and I hope to someday do the same for my own family. (For the full story, click here.)
